The meeting opened with the swearing-in of Commissioners Romano, Peter Cruz and Alan Blass by the Hon. Danielle Sharif. The swearing officer led the oath; those being sworn repeated the pledge, ending with "So help me God." After brief congratulations, the meeting moved to routine business.
The chair called for nominations. A member nominated Commissioner Romano for chair; another participant seconded the nomination. The body voted by voice, with no opposition recorded, electing Romano to serve as chair for a one-year term. The commission then nominated and elected Commissioner Alan Blass as vice chair; that motion also carried by voice vote.
The commission approved the minutes from the Feb. 5, 2026 meeting. The clerk recorded that the motion to approve was made by Commissioner Coogler and seconded by Commissioner Crews; the motion carried on a voice vote. The body then voted to adjourn into an executive session identified as "c 25 14" and planned to reconvene immediately after that session; the meeting was adjourned at 01:38:56.
No substantive policy items or final votes on ordinances or contracts were taken during the open portion of the meeting.
