Oakdale accepts $2,640 in donations; fire chief plans community CPR trainings

The Oakdale City Council on Oct. 14 accepted a package of recent donations totaling $2,640 to the Oakdale Fire Department and praised donors for supporting a planned community CPR training campaign.
Fire Chief Walt told the council the department received gifts from the Moser family, the Elizondo Charitable Foundation, the Mosner giving fund (on behalf of the Ryle family) and Mary Hurong. Chief Walt said the donations will fund CPR mannequins and training materials and that the department plans a hands-only CPR outreach campaign with quarterly trainings aimed at teens and other residents.
Chief Walt said the department will "launch a campaign within the community to do hands only CPR to as many residents, teenagers as we can in the community," and described plans for recurring quarterly trainings. The council moved to waive reading and adopt resolution 2025-90 accepting the donations; the motion carried on a unanimous voice vote.
The council thanked donors publicly. The acceptance authorizes the department to use the donated funds for training equipment and outreach; it does not create a new ongoing budget appropriation beyond the accepted donations.
