The Burrillville Town Council on Nov. 17 approved a broad set of annual license renewals covering retail liquor, victualing (food service), entertainment, pool-table and firearm licenses, plus annual rubbish-hauler permits for 2026. The approvals were made on motion and voice vote, with the chair reading conditions for issuance.
The chair reminded applicants and the public that issuance of licenses is conditioned on a certificate of good standing from the Rhode Island Division of Taxation, payment of local taxes, compliance with state and local building and fire codes, a Department of Health certification where required, alcohol server training and a certificate of insurance as required by the town ordinances referenced in the meeting.
Council also approved a temporary late-closing exception for Class B and Class D licensees to remain open until 3 a.m. on New Year's Eve (the morning of Jan. 1, 2026), with no intoxicating liquor sold after 2 a.m. and a requirement that establishments notify the chief of police by Nov. 30, 2025.
The council read and approved long lists of named businesses (retail liquor and victualing licensees) and took separate motions for pooled groups where appropriate; all motions passed on voice votes. The list of approved renewals includes (as read into the record) dozens of village businesses such as Chum Liquor LLC, Chums Spirits Ltd, Corkscrew Wine and Spirits, Elite Pizza Restaurant, Bravo Brewing Company, Uncle Ronnie's Tavern, New Leaf Coffee Bar and many others; where the transcript included varying spellings, the council directed adherence to submitted applications and supporting documents on file with the town clerk.
What happens next: Applicants must submit the required certificates and pass any pending inspections to complete renewal. The town clerk's office holds the complete application files for public review.
