CDA report: $4,500 investment income but snow removal has used 91% of budget

At the April 11 meeting, CDA staff summarized recent financial activity, reporting a $4,500 transfer in investment income and heavy spending on snow removal that has used roughly 91% of the authority’s annual snow-removal budget.
“we did, get a transfer in on our investment income of $4,500,” Abby said while reviewing changes since the Feb. 22 meeting. She added that a series of small snowfalls and repeated clearing trips contributed to the high drawdown of the snow-removal line.
Abby also noted a small $112 charge for a quarterly window-washing contract; staff has canceled the contract but will receive one prepaid visit before it ends. Other small expenditures included banners, holiday lights and landscape maintenance.
The report left the authority with limited remaining funds in the event-sponsorship line (an annual $7,500 total), a constraint that factored into the board’s later decision to maintain Mustard Day’s sponsorship at $2,000.
No further budget actions or reallocations were decided during the meeting; staff did not present a detailed forecast of remaining seasonal maintenance needs during the session.
