The Clay County Commission approved a set of infrastructure contracts and bid awards, including a low bid of $989,950 for an asphalt surface-treated project and a $330,310.50 award for the Frog Creek Road culvert work.
At the meeting, county staff reported the asphalt project’s low bid from the listed contractor totaled $989,950. A commissioner moved to award the work to the low bidder and the board approved the motion by voice vote.
The commission also reviewed bids for the Frog Creek Road culvert project; staff reported Wiser as the low bidder at $330,310.50 and the commission voted to award that contract. The board accepted the highway superintendent’s recommendations and authorized awards of various highway materials bids in a single motion.
Separately, the board approved an elevator maintenance contract with Schumacher Elevator at roughly $1.95 per month line-item (about $2,340 per year) and amended the contract motion to take annual payments to secure a 3% discount before final approval. The board approved that change and awarded the elevator contract.
All contract awards were approved by voice vote with the motions passing on the floor.
