Deputy City Manager Jennifer Wickman told the Arlington City Council during the afternoon session that the city's parking rules focus on vehicle size, condition and time limits rather than on company logos.
Wickman said Article 5 of the city's traffic and motor vehicles chapter lays out general street-parking requirements, including a 24-hour move rule for vehicles parked on public streets and dimensional prohibitions: vehicles longer than about 22 feet or taller or wider than about 8 feet are restricted on many neighborhood streets. She also said private-property parking is enforced by code enforcement and generally must be on an all-weather surface; private drives can have larger vehicles (staff cited up to 30 feet in length and 12 feet high as private-property allowances).
