Napoleon City Council adopted an ordinance updating rules for the city yard‑waste collection site and approved a resolution authorizing the sale of approximately 0.876 acres of city‑owned land (parcel 41‑129332.004). Both measures were approved on their final reads under emergency provisions.
At the meeting council also discussed 2026 EMS and fire contract renewals with nearby townships and the Henry County South Joint Ambulance District. Staff and the chief said the contracts expire April 1 and asked the council to direct the law director to draft necessary legislation to meet that deadline; the council voted to do so by roll call.
A new liquor permit application for Hawk’s Pizza & Drive Thru at 402 East Washington Street was presented; the police chief reported no objection and the council took no action, which signals no local objection to the state application. The council approved minutes from the Feb. 16, 2026 meeting, payment of bills, and adjourned the meeting.
Staff noted the parcel proposed for sale is located south of the Fred Gerken property; the city manager and staff were available at the meeting to answer questions about the marketing and sale process. The council did not indicate further conditions on the approved sale during the meeting.
