Board authorizes influent screen and two truck purchases totaling about $368,000

The Springettsbury Township Board of Supervisors authorized three purchases at the meeting: an influent screen for the intermunicipal sewer system and two fleet items for public works.

A motion from a supervisor to authorize sole-source purchase of an influent screen grid from Hydrodyne Engineering Inc. for an amount not to exceed $112,622.14 (a sewer capital expense under CoStars) carried by voice vote. "I would move for authorization to purchase influent screen grid from Hydrodyne Engineering, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $112,622.14," the moving supervisor said; the motion was seconded and approved.

The board also authorized purchase of a 2027 International HV507 SFA truck chassis through Ascendance Truck LLC for an amount not to exceed $127,618 (CoStars contract O25E23-577), and authorized purchase of a dump body and snow removal equipment through Valley Ridge Supply Company for up to $128,177.66. Both purchases were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.

At the meeting the chair noted contracts and budget authority: the influent screen was described as a sole-source intermunicipal sewer capital expense; supervisors said the truck purchases are in the general fund budget and that the chassis and dump-body items are related components of the same replacement. The consent agenda (items 5a–5e) was approved earlier in the meeting by voice vote.

Next steps: Staff will proceed with the purchases under the listed CoStars contracts and the township will complete required procurement paperwork.
