Knox County commissioners approve routine resolutions, a water-system change order and school resource officer contract

At the Aug. 26 meeting the Knox County Board of Commissioners moved through a consent agenda of routine resolutions and agreements.
Penny presented the first item, an update to the county risk-sharing authority schedule to add Connie Durbin as treasurer effective Sept. 1 and remove a previously listed individual. The board approved the change by motion.
The board also approved change order number 4 for KN Excavation on the CDBG Village of Martinsburg Water System Improvement Project, an increase of $13,420.23 to reflect final installed quantities. Penny said this likely represents the last payment related to the Martinsburg work. The motion passed unanimously.
A certification list to collect $3,963.86 for delinquent water and wastewater accounts was approved for placement on property tax bills.
The board approved a school resource officer contract with Centroburg Local School District for the 2025–26 school year at an annual contribution of $33,500; the sheriff’s office will cover the remaining cost. Commissioners also approved an agreement involving the Ohio Department of Children and Youth for early intervention service coordination in the amount of $163,026 between the Department of Job and Family Services and the Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Motions to approve these items were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded on the transcript.
