Kress, speaking during a brief legislative update when the scheduled lobbyist was absent, said he met with staff and lawmakers including Senators Kawasaki, Kronk and Myers and Representatives Tomaszewski, Kerrick, Schwenke and Pax. “I think folks were generally receptive,” he said. “The budget situation is taking up a lot of the oxygen in the room.” He added that legislators seemed interested in advancing items that “didn't cost a lot of money.”
Kress said he would provide a more in‑depth update later but that he was leaving to catch a plane. The Chair thanked Kress and the Assembly took no formal action on his remarks.
