Committee approves one-year renewal with current external auditors through Feb. 28, 2027

The committee approved a one-year renewal of the borough's external audit services contract with Alden Rogers, extending the period of performance from March 1, 2026, to Feb. 28, 2027.
April Tricke, the borough clerk (staff report), said the original contract included two one-year renewal options and staff recommends exercising the second option now. "So today before you is a request to exercise the last renewal option that we have on the current contract with Alden Rogers and Company," Tricke said, adding that staff will begin drafting an RFP later in the summer and issue it in the fall.
Finance staff who were present voiced no concerns about continuing with Alden Rogers. Joanne Pasco said the process "has been very, very efficient" and that she had "no concerns, whatsoever." A representative from the school district's accounting office, introduced as the district's new director of accounting, concurred that the district had no issues with the auditors and described the process as efficient.
Following brief discussion, a motion to exercise the final renewal option was moved and seconded and passed 5–0. Tricke noted staff will coordinate with borough finance, school district accounting and IGU on the subsequent RFP process this year.
The renewal authorizes the audit firm to continue service for the stated period; the clerk's office will oversee the RFP development later in the year to solicit proposals for the following contract term.
