The Mifflin County School District board on Feb. 24 authorized administration to prepare and solicit a request for proposals (RFP) for school photography services for a three-year contract (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2029) and approved an amendment to include sports photography in the same RFP.
Board members said combining the solicitations would allow vendors to bid on school portraits, sports photography or both, and would better synchronize contract terms so partial-year agreements could be awarded on a single timeline. A motion to amend the RFP to include sports photography was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
Board members discussed the logistics and modest advertising costs associated with preparing and soliciting RFPs. Administration said the RFP would allow vendors to bid on individual scopes (school or sports) or on both. The board directed staff to proceed with the combined RFP process and to advertise the solicitation according to procurement rules.
The board did not award a contract at the Feb. 24 meeting; it only authorized the solicitation and amended scope.
