City Manager Scott Huisinga told residents that Fair Oaks Ranch collected a “tremendous amount of feedback” to help shape the city’s next strategic plan and that a steering committee has been working to incorporate those responses.
“What we heard from you was clear,” Huisinga said, adding that residents most frequently praised the city’s “natural beauty, our sense of safety, and our quiet neighborhoods.” He said respondents also raised specific concerns, noting: “You cited concerns about development along the city's periphery. You also talked about maintaining the condition of our streets and the long term sustainability of our water supply.”
Huisinga framed the public input as benchmarks the city will use to measure the plan’s success and said staff have aligned that feedback with a set of draft goals. He announced a brief follow-up questionnaire to verify the direction before moving forward: “Our next questionnaire will open March 6, and this will be a quick check-in to ensure that the plan we're building for the next several years aligns with your vision.”
He urged residents to contact city staff with questions or concerns, saying, “If you have any questions or concerns, please drop me a line or stop by,” and closed with a community sign-off.
The questionnaire opening March 6 is the next procedural step described; Huisinga did not specify the questionnaire’s format, how long it will remain open, or specific dates for completing the strategic plan.
