Planning commission approves two small rezoning requests

Stephens County planning commissioners voted on Sept. 3 to approve two rezoning requests that would reclassify portions of Patricia Tim's Estate from agricultural-intensive to residential-single to permit parcel combination and future conveyance.
Staff described the requests as reclassifying 1.01 acres and 0.32 acres to residential-single to increase acreage of an adjacent residential parcel and allow sale or conveyance. "Staff recommendation for both items 2 and 3 are to approve as requested," staff said, noting that combining the parcels would bring the subject property into compliance with minimum acreage requirements in the residential-single zone.
No members of the public spoke in opposition during the public hearing, and commissioners moved and seconded approval of the items together. The commission approved the rezoning requests by voice vote and accepted the staff recommendation.
The approved rezoning will advance to the Board of Commissioners for final action in the standard land-use process.
