Lancaster school construction moves forward: curtain wall, kitchen and athletic‑area progress

Jessica, the school-construction representative, gave a February 26 update on the new school. She said the curtain-wall glass that will seal the academic portion of the building is expected in the coming weeks, and noted the parking lot has been placed despite earlier weather delays. Internally, drywall and acoustical work are underway in the auditorium and band room, science labs and maker space cabinetry are in, and the kitchen hood and walk-in cooler have been installed to support an expanded nutrition program.
Jessica showed photos of the commons, media center, auditorium and maker space and said the field house (one story with two team rooms and two restrooms) sits behind the stadium. Perimeter fencing around the track is planned after sod installation, likely in May; the timing for laying the track surface was not yet known. She also said a mobile trailer (VA250) is planned for a tree‑planting event with sixth and seventh graders on April 22.
Board members thanked construction staff for progress and for the roads department for storm-response assistance that helped expedite access and repairs related to the project.
