Heather, the county’s EMS director, told commissioners the levy has been brought to voters every six years since 1990 and that the board is not asking for an increase. “We assess it at 50¢,” she said, and added the renewal would preserve current funding for local EMS agencies. Heather said past renewals have passed with about 80% approval.
Commissioners noted the renewal is a routine measure to allow residents to decide whether to continue the levy. The board moved and seconded the proposition and approved it by voice vote.
The board’s action directs staff to place the renewal on the Feb. 10, 2026 special‑election ballot; any further changes would need separate board action.
