The Winona County Board voted to approve Lindsey Brandt as interim county assessor after confirming she has completed most licensing requirements and needs only the final public/oral portion to be fully credentialed.
Administrators told the board they have been working with Brandt for nine months and that she's current licensure status meets requirements pending a final step. "She has she's finished most of the licensing," an administrator said. Board members asked whether the interim title means the county would advertise the permanent position; staff confirmed the job posting would go live and that Brandt would be eligible to apply.
A motion to approve the interim appointment was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. The board recorded no roll-call tally in the hearing record. The county indicated the assessor position will be posted and that staff will continue to oversee the assessor's office during the interim appointment.
The appointment is effective immediately as an interim measure; the county will provide further information about the recruitment timeline when the posting is published.
