Mount Clemens Beautification Committee presents 16th annual Snowflake Awards

Junior Querio, introduced as chair of the Mount Clemens Beautification Committee, presented the committee’s 16th annual Snowflake Awards, recognizing one home in each of seven areas for holiday decorations during the 2022 season. Committee members Bev Bishop and Sherry Gabby accompanied Querio to the microphone.
Querio described the committee’s process (the city is divided into seven areas and one home from each area is selected) and said the group replaced the traditional snowflake ornament and photo with a snowflake suncatcher that winners can hang in a window for months after the holidays. Querio and commissioners thanked residents for decorating and acknowledged nominees who could not attend.
Commissioners and the mayor offered additional thanks to the beautification committee and encouraged residents to nominate volunteers or businesses for upcoming local awards and recognitions.
