The Kenai Peninsula Borough Plat Committee elected Ms. Gillum as chair and Commissioner Ann Whitney as vice chair at its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting.
The committee opened nominations for leadership at the start of the session. Commissioner Venuti nominated Ms. Gillum for chair; the nominee accepted the position when the chair asked if there were any other nominations. Commissioner Whitley (recorded as Whitney in the roll call) was nominated and accepted the vice chair position.
The appointments were made by acclamation after no additional nominations were offered. The committee then moved on to approve the meeting agenda and the consent agenda, beginning substantive business for the evening.
The committee meets next on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., with the Planning Commission meeting to follow at 7:30 p.m.
