Planning director reports unanimous Planning Commission approval to vacate portion of Narrow Road in Nikiski

Robert Ruffner, the planning director sitting in for Vincent Pagentini, reported to the lands committee on petition KPB 74-73 to vacate an irregular portion of Narrow Road east of Lots 14 and 15 in Emmanuel Subdivision No. 2 (Plat KN 2020-514) in Nikiski. He said the Planning Commission unanimously approved the vacation subject to a new plat that received preliminary approval.
Ruffner explained that the vacation will shift the road slightly east and make the intersection more perpendicular to meet preferred design (right-angle intersections) and to address topography issues at the current alignment. He said the new plat will carry the road east and include associated roads and new lots.
Committee members thanked Ruffner for the report and the lands committee adjourned at 4:13 p.m.
