The Rio Rancho governing board approved its consent calendar and the April meeting minutes before turning to leadership nominations.
During the meeting the chair opened nominations to select a chair and vice chair. The board moved to ask Vice Chair Cruz to consider the chair role and immediately nominated a current member for vice chair. Juan Martinez said he would “sustain from a vote at this time” because of working relationships, and the clerk completed a roll-call that resulted in the vice-chair nomination carrying. The clerk then announced that the motion carried.
The meeting contained no preregistered public comments. The board adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
