Council vice president and board members honor longtime planner Sam during public comment

Andrea Mandel, who identified herself as vice president of the township council, used the public‑comment period to thank a longtime township staffer, referred to on the record as “Sam,” for decades of service and institutional memory. Mandel described Sam’s deep familiarity with local streets, sites and development history and said the council had read a proclamation at its prior meeting.

Several board members and attendees offered brief personal remarks before the meeting continued with the Montessori Kids Universe hearing. The expressions of appreciation were personal comments recorded during the public‑comment and adjournment portions of the meeting; they did not pertain to any formal agenda item or board action.

The board then proceeded with scheduled business and adjourned after announcing its next meeting date.
