Shakopee council approves consent agenda covering equipment purchases, contracts and licenses; sets application deadlines for boards and commissions

The Shakopee City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda on Jan. 6, authorizing equipment purchases, contract and license actions and adopting the city's 2026 fee schedule.

City staff member Mr. Reynolds read the consent items during the meeting: "These are the consent agenda items for Tuesday, 01/06/2026, not 2025. 5A designates individuals authorized to perform certain banking transactions. 5B is the purchase of 4 John Deere front mowers, 2 John Deere gators, 3 John Deere tractors, a Chevrolet Equinox, and a Chevrolet pickup truck. 5 adopts the 2026 fee schedule... 5L approves a cooperative agreement with Scott County for the construction and maintenance of a traffic signal at the County Highway 16 in Dean's Lake Trail Kinlochway intersection. 5ms is resolution R2026 TAC 10, extending the city issued THC licenses until the state can get theirs put together...."

Key consent items and approvals - Equipment and vehicles: Approval to purchase multiple John Deere units (mowers, gators, tractors) and two Chevrolet vehicles. - Contracts and maintenance: Extension of the 2026 tree-pruning contract and approval of a 2026 ash tree removal contract; Change Order No. 3 for Canterbury Commons internal roadway improvements. - Planning and engineering: Acceptance of a Stantec Consulting proposal for engineering services for Lions Park parking-lot improvements; setting a public hearing date for the street reconstruction plan. - Licenses and permits: Approval of business and therapist massage licenses for VIP Massage Incorporated and Clinical Massage and Bodywork LLC (Ludmila Lulaca and Veneta Lulaca), and approval of off-sale and Sunday liquor licenses for SM Liquor LLC doing business as Merwin Liquor.
