The Shakopee City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda on Jan. 6, authorizing equipment purchases, contract and license actions and adopting the city's 2026 fee schedule.
City staff member Mr. Reynolds read the consent items during the meeting: "These are the consent agenda items for Tuesday, 01/06/2026, not 2025. 5A designates individuals authorized to perform certain banking transactions. 5B is the purchase of 4 John Deere front mowers, 2 John Deere gators, 3 John Deere tractors, a Chevrolet Equinox, and a Chevrolet pickup truck. 5 adopts the 2026 fee schedule... 5L approves a cooperative agreement with Scott County for the construction and maintenance of a traffic signal at the County Highway 16 in Dean's Lake Trail Kinlochway intersection. 5ms is resolution R2026 TAC 10, extending the city issued THC licenses until the state can get theirs put together...."

Procedural notes and announcements Mr. Whiting moved to approve the consent agenda, and Councillor Contreras seconded the motion; the council voted to approve the items. The council recessed to hold an Economic Development Authority meeting and later returned to the regular session. The city also announced openings on Shakopee boards and commissions—two planning commission and board-of-adjustments seats, one seat on the Public Utilities Commission, and one seat on a police civil service commission—with an application deadline of Friday, Jan. 16, 2026.
The council adjourned and scheduled its next meeting for Jan. 20, 2026, at 7 p.m.
