Cherokee County commissioners said they will move forward with filing an objection to a proposed Holly Springs annexation after staff flagged multiple technical and policy concerns.
Planning staff told the board the City of Holly Springs received an annexation application from Brockbuilt Homes covering two parcels totaling 19.9 acres along Sixes Road and proposing 178 dwelling units, a mix of single-family detached homes and townhomes. "It is an incredible proposed density of 8.94, which is not consistent with our suburban living," the presenter said, adding that the project would be about three times the high end of the county's allowable density for the area.
