Lake Jackson shortlists three CMAR firms for recreation-center locker-room renovation procurement

The Lake Jackson City Council on Feb. 17 authorized staff to move to the second step of a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) procurement for locker-room renovations at the recreation center, shortlisting Broadridge Construction, Construction Masters and Noble Construction.
Staff said a five‑firm statement-of-qualifications process produced the three top-ranked firms and recommended the shortlist. The selection committee ranked the firms and staff requested permission to issue proposals to the three firms. Councilman Centania moved the request and Councilman Scooter seconded; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff said the goal is to have a contract in place by April and to begin construction in August, with completion targeted by December, and that the review considered firms’ ability to meet the schedule.
Next steps: staff will issue RFPs/proposal requests to the three shortlisted firms and return to council with recommendations later in the procurement process.
