San Juan County auditor moves Munis conversion forward; Eden end‑of‑life looms

County Auditor Natasha Warmenhoven updated the council on the county’s transition from Eden to Tyler Technologies’ Enterprise ERP (Munis), telling members Jan. 13 that the Eden end‑of‑life remains listed as March 1, 2027, and that Tyler has pledged support to counties during staggered transitions.
Warmenhoven said IT uploaded a current Eden database to Tyler so the vendor can build an importable chart of accounts workbook. Three meetings are scheduled in February with a Washington state finance specialist working with Tyler; the goal is to have a chart of accounts uploaded into a test environment for tweaks before final import.
The auditor said staff are considering repurposing an existing capital‑funded position into a project manager to shepherd the conversion and that the work will require close coordination with the Treasurer’s office, HR for payroll/HR modules, IT and fleet services for enterprise asset management. She also said she has been collecting job descriptions and transition experience from other Washington county auditors to inform hiring and contracting choices.
Warmenhoven said she has escalated delays to Tyler and is working with Tyler’s director of implementation; she expects to return to council with an updated timeline and budget.
No vote or appropriation was taken at the retreat; Warmenhoven said an updated budget estimate will be provided once staff finalize procurement and staffing choices.
