Gradwell said the interpreter's work included short talks, outreach to families and distribution of printed materials and partner information at an on‑boat table.
"We are requesting, of this committee, $10,000 to cover the salary of an interpretive specialist," Gradwell said, adding that Washington State Parks would provide management and that Washington State Ferries would provide operational support. He and members discussed cost‑sharing options, Friends‑of‑the‑Park contributions and expanded marketing through state partners to drive heads and beds.
