Pierce County Council approves evening district meetings in Fife and Vaughn

Proposal R2026-101 sets an evening District 5 meeting for Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Dacca Barn, 2820 54th Avenue E., Fife. Proposal R2026-102 schedules an evening District 7 meeting for Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Key Peninsula Civic Center, 17010 S. Vaughn Road NW, Vaughn.
Miss Long (staff) explained the legal basis for the resolutions, citing section 2.30 of the Pierce County Charter and the council's rules of procedure (chapter 1.28 of the Pierce County Code), which require at least one evening meeting in each council district and provide that specific times and places be set by resolution.
Both resolutions were moved, seconded, opened for public comment (none were offered), and approved by a roll-call vote of six ayes and zero nays.
The council noted these meetings are in addition to the regular weekly meetings and encouraged residents in the affected districts to attend.
