Edina Planning Commission elects new chair, vice chair and secretary

At its Feb. 25 meeting the Planning Commission elected Commissioner Elkhire as chair, Commissioner Smith as vice chair, and Commissioner Day as secretary; outgoing Commissioner Bornstein was honored for his service.
The City of Edina Planning Commission on Feb. 25 conducted its annual election of officers. Chair Bennett nominated Commissioner Elkhire to serve as chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioner Smith was nominated and approved as vice chair, and Commissioner Day was nominated and approved as secretary.
Chair Bennett and other commissioners thanked outgoing Commissioner Bornstein for three years of service. The commission noted the upcoming work on the decennial comprehensive plan update and other items on the annual work plan.
The commission then moved to the evening's public hearing on Highlands Elementary and later tabled that conditional use permit request to allow additional technical analyses and neighborhood outreach before a final recommendation.
