York County accepts juvenile diversion grant to make staffer full-time

Commissioners discussed timing and the program's funding structure and moved to accept the grant award pending receipt of the formal documentation. Staff said the grant will cover wages and benefits; one figure discussed in the meeting was $66,000 and an additional line of $8,846 was mentioned in packet material (both numbers were read during discussion). The board approved acceptance and the chair said the formal award packet will be presented for signature when it arrives.
The county will follow the grant's reporting requirements and monitor the step-down schedule that could shift costs to the county in later years.
