Camdenton JROTC proposes new FAA Part 107 prep course for high school students

Participants would also receive career exploration and field trip opportunities to observe drones used in public safety, agriculture and other industries.
Staff noted enrollment interest (26 students had placed the course on ICAPs as of the meeting) and proposed eligibility criteria (must be 16 in the year of testing and maintain a 3.0 GPA). Board members asked whether the district could host Part 107 testing on campus; presenters said they would pursue options but expected students would likely travel to state testing centers.
What’s next: staff will finalize course details, confirm eligibility and scheduling, and present a formal course recommendation and implementation plan before fall registration.
