Ginnie Mae IT project manager Nona Farshad told issuers on the Nov. outreach call that PDS testing reached 100% and that PDS monthly reporting will go live on Dec. 1, 2024. "As of November 1, PDS testing is a 100%," she said, noting implementation under APM 24-6 and training available for issuers.
The change affects how issuers report supplemental forbearance data. Farshad said supplemental forbearance files will continue for six months, then be discontinued: "Starting in calendar month June 2025 ... the supplemental forbearance file is discontinued and issuers will only report PDS data." Issuers were directed to modernization bulletins and FAQs posted on GinnieMae.gov and encouraged to attend scheduled training sessions, including a Nov. 26 webinar.
Farshad asked issuers to review modernization bulletin 54 and related appendices for reporting codes and forbearance reporting directions, and to submit technical questions to the support email provided. Ginnie Mae emphasized the transition period: voluntary forbearance reporting continues through May 2025 while monthly PDS reporting becomes mandatory.
The immediate next steps for issuers are to complete any outstanding training and to direct technical or operational questions to the Ginnie Mae service desk.
