Anita Patak, a business analyst with Bank of New York, outlined a planned migration of the document custodian transfer and merger workflow into Ginnie Mae’s PDM/MGM environment so users will be able to initiate, complete and download transfer/merger requests inside the new interface.
Patak said the enhancement will add a transfer request tab under MGM tools, and require an acknowledgment step before submission to reduce errors. She said a new functional role, “multifamily transfer basic user,” will allow initiation, saving and editing of transfer/merger requests, while the existing multifamily transfer authorized signer role will remain unchanged. Patak said training and the updated user manual will be posted on GinnieMae.gov and gave a targeted go‑live date of Jan. 17, 2025.
Why it matters: consolidating the transfer and merger workflow into PDM should streamline issuer and custodian processes and reduce error rates by introducing a pre‑submission acknowledgement and clearer role‑based access.
Panel guidance: organization admins at multifamily issuers will be responsible for assigning the new basic user role to employees who initiate transfer/merger requests; Ginnie Mae will publish training dates and materials in advance of the go‑live.
