Planning board moves Lincoln comprehensive plan to a public hearing in February

The Lincoln Planning Board voted on Jan. 28 to move the town’s revised comprehensive plan to a planning‑board public hearing in February after staff reported the latest draft incorporates Statewide Planning’s comments.
Planning staff said the comments were largely minor and called for additional examples and some language aligning with statewide standards; the consultant has revised the draft and staff recommended scheduling the public hearing. Board members noted the plan is substantial in length but reminded members new to the board they can take time to review the draft before the hearing. The board approved a motion (mover: Mr. London; second: Mr. Techieves) to send the plan to a public hearing, and the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff and board members said the comprehensive plan remains amendable after adoption and that the town council will be required to hold its own hearing after the planning board’s hearing. The planning board set the next procedural step — the public hearing in February — and will accept public comment at that meeting.
