At the end of the work session the chair previewed items for the Board of License Commissioners, including a Class B liquor license application for a lanes-and-games location and a separate location that has applied to reissue a BB liquor license.
Staff told the council that "they are in bankruptcy court as well as fighting eviction" referring to Cinema World of Florida, and said the lanes location will seek a victualing (food service) license now and defer alcohol service until a March public hearing. The chair said the council will need to schedule a public hearing to reissue the BB license for the lanes location.
The session also covered routine consent-agenda items: a claim (Tradoya) to be formally denied and referred to the appropriate trust, resolutions from two municipalities, appointments, and committee calendar items (ordinance committee, claims committee, purchase subcommittee and capital improvement reports). The chair noted an ordinance introduction for a senior-citizen discount and a request from Rhode Island Energy for an easement by 0 Woodland Street near Salesville Elementary.
Before adjourning, the chair called for public comment (none given), a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and agreed to by voice ('Aye'); the transcript does not specify who moved or seconded. The council did not take any final licensing votes during this work session; the licensing matters were scheduled for upcoming hearings.
