The planning board reviewed the application on Jan. 28 and voted 5–0 to forward a positive recommendation, stating the replacement would be an enhancement.
Neighbors asked about sight‑line impacts and an unrelated banner on the building; one resident said reorienting the sign might obstruct the view from her driveway. The board discussed placement and amended a motion to require the sign be sited exactly as the site plan shows (7 feet from the sidewalk) and not be moved closer to the street. Member Patai presented the motion (amended to cite the town’s sign code, 2‑60‑34); it was seconded and carried unanimously. The board set a 40‑square‑foot cap to allow a small margin around the applicant’s 39‑sq‑ft design.
