The Ann Arbor Planning Commission on March 3 voted unanimously to recommend City Council approve amendments to Unified Development Code section 5.22 to clarify when stormwater management review is delegated to the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner (WRC).
Planner DeLeo told commissioners the proposed edits reorganize and simplify existing language so it is easier for customers and developers to understand when the county, rather than the city, will conduct stormwater review; staff emphasized the proposed list is intended to maintain the same substantive outcomes established in the 2022 revision.
The staff report noted the change is intended to reduce confusion for applicants and that public services staff requested the amendments. Manager Kelly read the motion; Commissioner Mills moved and Commissioner Adams seconded and the roll call recorded unanimous support.
The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for consideration.
