Staff described extensive coordination with state agencies, the county Water Conservancy District and local irrigation companies, and said hydrology studies and updated maps were incorporated into the plan. Shannon (staff) noted the state provided technical input and a $15,000 grant to reimburse some staff time.
Commissioners praised the staff and interagency collaboration; one commissioner suggested using the grant funds to host a planning and zoning dinner. The commission moved, seconded and carried a recommendation to approve the general plan updates and grant final approval to the water‑use and prevention plan, forwarding the recommendation to the county commission for final adoption.
