Broussard council renews crime-camera services, instructs attorney to finalize a written contract

The Broussard City Council voted Sept. 10 to approve Resolution 808-24, a budget amendment authorizing execution of a contract for services to renew crime-camera subscriptions and support.
City attorney Gerald Deloney told the council he drafted the resolution and recommended converting the existing invoice arrangement into a short written agreement to ensure deliverables are clear. “The resolution I drafted also includes a provision which requires that we sign a contract with them…Right now, we only have an invoice. So I wanna do a short agreement,” Deloney said.
The police chief said the current cameras meet specifications and are useful to the city and to cooperating agencies, including providing footage to a regional real-time crime center. “I think anytime you have cameras that we could utilize…and it’s a very valuable tool to solving our crimes here in Broussard,” the chief said.
Council members moved and approved the resolution and directed the attorney and chief to finalize a written contract ensuring the service scope and compliance requirements are specified.
The agenda lists the vendor as "Scribe Fighters of Louisiana LLC" for the contract execution; the council recorded the motion as approved by roll call.
