The Paris City Council approved a zoning change with a specific-use permit to allow a tattoo shop at 114 Southeast 1st Street during its Aug. 24 meeting.
Staff (Miss Easton) said the applicant, identified in the agenda as Kendra White but who introduced herself at the podium as Kendra Wyatt, is proposing to reopen a location that had previously housed a tattoo shop; staff reported no recorded nuisances from the prior use and recommended approval, noting the downtown site is on a side street with limited window frontage. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval 6–0.
Applicant Kendra Wyatt briefly addressed the council, saying she is a fine artist as well as a tattoo artist and hopes to expand her art business downtown.
After closing the hearing, a council member moved to approve the change with a specific-use permit for 114 Southeast 1st Street; the motion was seconded and the chair announced unanimous approval.
