Public commenters urge commissioners to read zoning code and raise election-residency questions

Michael Hoy, who said he served as a poll challenger in the Nov. 4 election, raised a series of questions about candidate paperwork and alleged outstanding municipal debts linked to a candidate named Deidra/Deidre Fields. He said the clerk's records show unpaid balances and raised questions about petition signatures and name variations. Hoy asked the commission to resolve what he described as inconsistencies and submitted records to the clerk for review.
Commissioners did not take action on the allegations during the meeting; Commissioner Clark Griffin and others said they expect staff or legal advice if further steps are needed.
