Board members emphasized the need for clarity after the earlier procedural confusion. One commissioner said denying the raise now would be "a slap in the face of the roads department," reflecting that employees had already been told the increase would be applied. The chair apologized for the prior procedural error and confirmed the board’s intention was to formalize the previously discussed raise.
The board voted in favor by roll call; the county will implement the wage change effective immediately for payroll processing and will re-evaluate the decision later in the budget year.
