The East Ridge City Council authorized staff to award the 2026 street improvements contract to Talley Construction, the lowest responsible bidder, at $1,349,549.50.
Public Works staff reviewed the bid opening (three bids received), identified included streets (including North Mac Smith Road segments and other resurfacing locations) and explained prior emergency charges (drainage repairs and previous resurfacing) that reduced the available appropriation. Staff said the project would prioritize the worst-condition corridors and use any remaining funds for additional curb/bridal area repairs.
Council discussed work coordination where utility (WWTA) failures require concurrent repairs and observed that fuel-price declines improved paving efficiency. The resolution passed on roll call.
