Camelot nightclub fined $500 after city finds underage patrons during Sept. business check

The city sought a one‑time administrative fine under the code for selling or furnishing alcohol to persons under 21.
Camelot’s manager, Jeremiah Fence, told the magistrate the venue has since implemented an ID‑scanning system and strengthened security protocols, saying the club uses the same technology the West Palm Beach Police Department uses and now verifies IDs systematically.
Magistrate Amity Barnard treated the matter as a first offense, entered the city’s evidentiary file and assessed a one‑time fine of $500. The magistrate also directed that an order be issued and mailed to the club with instructions for compliance and recordkeeping.
The magistrate noted the club’s remedial steps but held that a fine was appropriate given the facts on the September check. The case file will reflect the city’s and the respondent’s exhibits and the order signed by the magistrate.
