County approves temporary relocation of Bountiful ballot drop box during library remodel

The Davis County Commission approved a resolution and interlocal agreement on March 3 to temporarily relocate a ballot drop box in Bountiful while the Bountiful Library undergoes remodeling.
Brian McKenzie, the county clerk, told commissioners the drop box will be moved to the senior center adjacent to the library complex "for approximately two years, hopefully less," while construction is completed. He said there is no substantive financial impact other than the county facilities costs to relocate the unit.
The commission moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.
The change is intended to maintain ballot drop-off access near the library while construction proceeds; McKenzie said the county will monitor the arrangement and return the drop box when the library reopens.
