Organizers of the Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation promoted an April 11 gala to raise funds for the American Heart Association and to provide scholarships for young women across Cochise County.
Rachelle Westbrook, executive director, said the 'Style at Sunset Red Gala' will be Saturday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Soldier Creek Business Center, 665 North Garden Avenue, Sierra Vista, and tickets are $30. "This gala is to raise money for the American Heart Association," Westbrook said, and added that the event supports scholarships for participants and helps titleholders raise required funds when they advance to Miss Arizona.
Tanith Lewis, identified on-air as Miss San Pedro Valley's Teen 2026, described her initiative — called the Winnie the Pooh Project — which emphasizes kindness and courage in school and community outreach. Westbrook said the local preliminary competition follows Miss America organization rules and that every delegate receives some scholarship funds.
Westbrook thanked local sponsors named on-air, including the Cochise County sheriff's office, the Legacy Foundation, Ace Hardware and others, and directed listeners to misssierravista.com or misssierravistaaz@gmail.com for tickets, sponsorship or delegate information.
