Don, a city staff member, told council the changes bring local ordinance language into alignment with the Ohio EPA permit to discharge stormwater to waters of the U.S. He said the state’s language can change over time due to new technology or changing requirements and that updating the city’s code makes standards clearer and more consistent for developers.
Council moved to suspend and adopt the ordinance on second reading and, after a roll-call vote, the ordinance was adopted. No amendments or objections were recorded in the transcript.
Staff said the amendment is intended to reduce ambiguity for developers and harmonize requirements across neighboring communities.
