The Port Arthur City Council voted Dec. 16 to support two major-pipeline permits for projects presented by Kinder Morgan affiliate Trident Interstate Pipeline LLC.
Greg Neil, public-affairs representative for Kinder Morgan, told the council the 20-inch lateral and the 42-inch main would serve existing industrial customers and follow existing corridors as much as possible. "We took extra care in following existing corridors and also using TxDOT right away whenever possible," Neil said, adding the bulk of construction would occur outside the city limits in the extraterritorial jurisdiction.
