The Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates elected Carl Frizzell as deputy speaker after nominations closed with him as the sole nominee.
Dean Ullman nominated Carl Frizzell and the nomination was seconded. Clerk Cliff Fletcher called the roll; the clerk reported 14 delegates representing a majority of towns voted in the affirmative and the assembly congratulated the newly elected deputy speaker.
Frizzell gave brief remarks thanking delegates for their vote of confidence and pledging to work to "contribute to the smooth operation of this body and the effectiveness of this body." The assembly chose to postpone any further business and will resume additional agenda items at a future meeting.
The election was recorded by roll call and no formal challenge or amendment to the nomination was offered during the session.
