SAN ANTONIO ISD official praises students, says they will work through January as board readies superintendent search

An agency official with SAN ANTONIO ISD delivered a farewell-style address to the district community, praising students and staff and saying they will continue to work through January as the board prepares to select a new superintendent.

The official said, “Serving SAISD has truly been the honor of a lifetime,” and described the district as a family that inspired their daily work. They thanked colleagues and trustees for their guidance and said being able to serve “more than 42,000 students” felt like an extraordinary gift.

The speaker asked the board of trustees to involve the community in the superintendent search and to choose a leader who reflects the district’s families and will build on the district’s momentum. “Between now and January, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that we keep building schools where our students can dream boldly,” the official said.

Addressing students directly, the speaker urged them not to let others define their limits: “You are powerful, brilliant, and full of possibility. Dream boldly, work with purpose, and remember that you carry the strength of your families, your culture, and this familia with you wherever you go.”

The address closed with a personal note about legacy and faith: the official said they hope to be remembered as someone who led with faith, humility, and love and who helped lift children up and open hearts and minds.
